For a (relatively) weed-free garden, don’t let a single weed go to seed.

Weeds can easily take over a garden—and if you let them go to seed, you’ll be locked into a frustrating cycle of endless weeding. Pull out weeds, root and all, as soon as you can after they appear. This is often easiest when the soil is somewhat moist in spring. Over time, this will result in a weedless garden. Diligent time spent on this task now will pay off for years to come.

Don’t plant too high.
